A canonical theory for short GPS baselines. Part IV: precision versus reliability
نویسنده
چکیده
This contribution is the last of four parts and deals with the link between baseline precision and ambiguity reliability. It is shown analytically how and to what extent the baseline-ambiguity correlation is related to the gain in baseline precision, to the volume of the ambiguity search space, and to the impact of potential integer ambiguity biases. Also, an ambiguity DOP measure is introduced together with its closed-form formulae for the three dierent single-baseline models.

A canonical theory for short GPS baselines. Part I: The baseline precision
The present contribution is the ®rst of four parts. It considers the precision of the ̄oated and the ®xed baseline. A measure is introduced for the gain in baseline precision which is experienced when the carrier phase double-dierenced ambiguities are treated as integers instead of as reals. The properties of this measure are analyzed, and it is shown by means of principal angles how it relate...
متن کاملA canonical theory for short GPS baselines. Part II: the ambiguity precision and correlation
The present contribution is the second of four parts. It considers the precision and correlation of the least-squares estimators of the carrier phase ambiguities. It is shown how the precision and correlation of the double-differenced ambiguities as well as of the widelane ambiguities are effected by the observation weights, by the number of satellites tracked, by the number of observation epoc...
متن کاملA canonical theory for short GPS baselines . Part III : the geometry of the ambiguity search space
This contribution is the third of four parts. Based on the gain-number concept, canonical forms will be presented of the ambiguity search spaces of the geometry-based model, the time-averaged model, and the geometry-free model. These forms reveal the intrinsic geometry of the search spaces and allow one to study their size, shape, and orientation as function of data precision, sampling rate, sa...
متن کاملNetwork-based RTK Positioning Using Integrated GPS and GLONASS Observations
With the recent rapid revival of the GLONASS constellation, it is possible for the GLONASS system to provide Full Operational Capability (FOC) service before the end of 2011. CDMA signals are now additionally modulated onto the first GLONASS-K satellite which was launched on February 26, 2011. It is envisaged that GNSS users will benefit from more visible satellites, better precision and higher...
متن کاملA Hierarchical SLAM/GPS/INS Sensor Fusion with WLFP for Flying Robo-SAR's Navigation
In this paper, we present the results of a hierarchical SLAM/GPS/INS/WLFP sensor fusion to be used in navigation system devices. Due to low quality of the inertial sensors, even a short-term GPS failure can lower the integrated navigation performance significantly. In addition, in GPS denied environments, most navigation systems need a separate assisting resource, in order to increase the avail...
